The following FLASS scholars were either appointed to a major position to contribute their experiences and expertise for the benefit of the community, or they have recently won major external or internal awards.

Award
- Bronze medal, the 49th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva (Geneva Invention Exhibition) for his invention titled “Digital Puppetry System: Connecting Young Generation and Cultural Heritage with Novel Technology”.

Gold Medal, the Hong Kong Open Group under the Digital Economy category at the Hong Kong Techathon+ 2024 for “Project e-MUSE”.
Dr Izzy Jian Yi
Assistant Professor, Department of Social Sciences and Policy Studies (SSPS)
Award
- Innovation of the Year Award in the Active Ageing Community category, the 12th Eldercare Innovation Award 2024 at the World Ageing Festival organized by Ageing Asia.
The award is given to Happy Ageing Lab Foundation for its project “Hou2 Living Gallery @ CityOne Shatin – Participatory Estate Improvement Programme for an Age-Friendly Living Environment”. Dr Izzy Jian Yi serves as a director of the foundation.

Professor Keith Ho Wing-kei
Professor, Department of Science and Environmental Studies (SES)
Appointed as Head of SES for 3 years, effective from 1 April 2024.
Professor Hung Keung
Promoted to Professor of the Department of Cultural and Creative Arts (CCA), effective from 1 March 2024.
Dr Xiao Hanyu
Promoted to Associate Professor of the Department of Social Sciences and Policy Studies (SSPS), effective from 1 July 2024.
